SQUID.

Yes, squid. These critters are ugly as hell, extremely yucky to gut clean if you're not used to it, but are also one of the MOST DARN DELICIOUS things edible.

What I'm gonna share with you here is a classified secret - my own special recipe which I'm famous for among those who know me

1) Separate the bastards' heads from the mantles, gut them clean, remove the eyes and the 'beak' from the heads, wash them and pour some olive oil over them.

2) Grill them on a barbecue 'till they're about 2/3 done, then chop them to thin slices (heads included), and finish them in a pot along with some more olive oil, salt, pepper and chopped garlic & parsley. Remember to keep the lid on while cooking.

3) Sacrifice for the cause some potatoes (cut to 'cubes', boiled and salted) and some spinach (boiled, chopped, salted and buttered, with some milk and flour added), and place them at the side.



Prepared like this, these ugly little bastards have possibly the single MOST AWESOME flavour imaginable for me, of all the stuff in the world that I can put in my mouth.
