Description
Watercolour practice, with a photo as a reference.
I plan to enter a certain comics-contest, so I'm exploring several colouring techniques to use over the lines....which is pretty hard - I've been doing only black&white stuff for years (which had a result of me literally thinking in monochrome) and my digital-graphics skills are zero, so I'm dabbling a bit with these.
Critiques and tips are MOST welcome - these are my first watercolours in ages.
Seriously, I haven't touched the shit since Elementary, which is bloody well over 20 years..
*****
I've always had deep fascination with vintage Italian cars, especially Alfa Romeos. Astounding design, raw power, incredible elegance and spirit embodied in those cars and packed within a vibrant "rosso corsa" shade of red visual masterpiece is something unparalleled in my book.
Ever since I was a kid, I've had a dream of one day owning a gorgeous '66 Alfa Romeo Spider , and when it finally happens it will mark the achievement of one lifelong goal!
This baby above, however, could easily take Spider's place, if it wasn't for one little detail - only 18 were ever built, which makes it one of the rarest production cars in history, plus only 8 are known to still exist over 40 years later .......so you can imagine the asking price for one of these beauties nowadays must be astronomical.
Anyways:
1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
Powered by a race-bred 2.0L V8, designed by Franco Scaglione in company's attempt to implement Alfa's racing technology achievements into a road-legal vehicle. First-ever car to feature butterfly doors.
....and THE single most BEAUTIFUL thing on 4 wheels EVER built. Period.
Serously, this mediocre picture of mine doesn't do it justice, go watch some Youtube videos, photos and shit, and feast your eyes.
So deliciously curvaceous, drooling-ly voluptuous, amazingly powerful and infinitely desirable......this car is pure wet SEX!
